We can’t let the Italians have all the fun, so how about some German flare? We travel across the Alps and begin the process again with the extravagant art(and outfits!) of Joachim Meyer’s circa 1560s manuscript Thorough Descriptions of the Art of Fencing. Our Meyer wall hanging is inspired by a favorite image from the treatise.
We are really excited about this phase of the project – translating these beautiful images into textile designs. Have a favorite image you’d like to see? Let us know!
As a clothing and textile designers, who are also students of historical sword fighting, SwordGeek’s Boutique brings together the things we love most! The richly detailed art of these manuscripts have provided us endless design inspiration for items for home and body, walls and sofas. What better way to proclaim your passion for all things swordy than bling that features the art of the time from the actual manuals our predecessors studied from?
