Inspired by the extravagant art (and outfits!) of Joachim Meyer’s circa 1560s manuscript “Thorough Descriptions of the Art of Fencing”, we created custom printed designs. These are 16″ x 16” pillows with back overlap closure made in a rich, soft, velvet with a Meyer image front and solid satin back. This is truly a miracle fabric. 100% polyester velvet, washable, soft and best of all, it prints with the richest depth and finest details of any fabric we’ve ever worked. Buy with pillow inserts included or add them yourself via the overlapped opening in the back. For a very full looking pillow we recommend 18” x 18” inserts. Velvet front, dark solid satin back. Sold as a single or a pair and with or without pillow inserts.
About Sword Geek’s Boutique
For several years the folks at Historica Clothier’s have been designing vintage inspired, unique, high quality clothing and accessories. The many inspirations for our work includes all manner of historical sources including medieval art and fashion as well the romantic, larger-than-life NeoGothic reinterpretation of the 19th century. Our lead designer, Nicole Allen, is also a long time practitioner of Italian Medieval and Renaissance Martial Arts, or in other words, she swordfights for fun.
In 2017 she was inspired to create custom textiles in support of the production of Flowers of Battle (www.indiegogo.com/projects/flowers-of-battle-medieval-martial-arts#/) Indiegogo campaign sponsored by Freelance Academy Press (www.freelanceacademypress.com) that has successfully produced a high quality facsimile of the beautifully illustrated Medieval Martial Arts fight books(there are multiple versions extant) named il Fior di Bataglia, circa 1409. As a result, we got a ton of interest from folks about making more and so SwordGeeks was conceived. Now let’s get to the really fun part…cool stuff we’ve made with you in mind!
